GUCCI FW 1994 by TOM FORD

Gucci Fall Winter 1994 marked Tom Ford’s unofficial debut as Creative Director — and a bold departure of the brand’s past.  Ford brought a modern, youthful confidence to the runway: micro mini skirts, white opaque stockings, and white Gucci horse-bit heels — a look that electrified the fashion world.

This segment from Fashion File was produced, directed, written and reported by MODTV founder Karen Morrison, who filmed the original Hi-8 video. It’s a rare piece — intimate, behind-the-scenes access to Tom Ford reviewing the show lineup backstage at Milan Fashion Week, captured before he was giving formal interviews.

FOOTAGE LICENSING

The broadcast segment included Hi-8 footage finished in black and white to echo the stripped-back aesthetic of the era — but MODTV owns all the rights to the original color Hi-8 rushes and are available for licensing. Footage from MODTV archive has appeared in acclaimed series including In Vogue: The 90s and Kingdom of Dreams – streaming globally on Apple TV+, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and Paramount+.

This original production is part of the MODTV Fashion Film Archive, available for documentary and editorial licensing.
