Allure Backstage

Directed & Executive Produced by KAREN MORRISON

Allure Backstage television specials were hosted by Linda Wells, the founding editor of Allure magazine and directed, and executive produced by Karen Morrison. The pioneering television series was produced by MODTV and aired on E! Entertainment TV, Style Network, and BravoTV, delivering exclusive backstage access to the season’s top beauty trends and runway shows.

Originally developed as a video extension of Allure’s bi-annual Backstage Beauty trend report, the television specials brought the magazine’s—and Linda Wells’—editorial voice to life on screen, featuring interviews with designers, models, hairstylists, and makeup artists at Fashion Weeks in New York, Milan, and Paris.

In 2009, as the digital era began, Morrison transformed Allure Backstage into short-form beauty video series, produced and edited in real time from global Fashion Weeks. Instrumental in helping grow the magazine’s newly relaunched website at Allure.Com, the series were widely syndicated across platforms including YouTube, Facebook, and Apple Podcasts, and went on to win numerous awards, including a Honorary Webby.
