Canadian-born Tommy Ton is one of the most influential street style photographers working today, celebrated for his instinctive, detail-rich images that capture the energy of Fashion Week. In 2012, as Instagram and digital fashion media were exploding, MODTV filmed Tommy in action on the streets of Milan and Paris—right as he was shaping a new visual language for fashion culture.
A self-described “fashion paparazzi,” Ton captures the emotion, color, and individuality of the people who define fashion’s front row. “The fashion show is the new red carpet,” he explains. “With the boom of blogging, Twitter, and the internet, people have become so connected—it’s a community that’s grown so fast.”
