Sarah Burton’s Alexander McQueen Spring 2013 collection was a bold ode to the bee—less literal, more visionary. Honeycomb motifs, golden tones, and sculpted silhouettes pulsed with hive-like tension. Models were veiled like surreal beekeepers, their forms cinched and haltered in ultra-feminine shapes inspired by Vargas pinups. “Celebratory,” said Burton. Hairstylist Guido Palau crafted sleek hair beneath netted veils, while makeup artist Peter Philips delivered graphic eyes and flawless skin to complete the powerful look.
