Lady Gaga Rocks Vintage Versace in The Edge Of Glory Video

Lady Gaga wears vintage Versace in her new music video for the latest single ‘Edge of Glory‘. Every look Gaga wears in the video was designed by the late Gianni Versace. Apparently it’s the first time that Donatella Versace has opened the archive for a music video collaboration.

As Donatella Versace explained in a press statement and on Twitter – “I am greatly honored that Lady Gaga chose to wear a Versace Vintage look throughout her ‘Edge of Glory’ video.

I am a great fan of hers and I believe that my brother Gianni would have appreciated her talent. Like him, Lady Gaga is unafraid to push boundaries and she has created an original vocabulary by merging fashion, music, theater, and art. For me, this video represents a wonderful tribute to anyone who is unafraid to take chances.

Versace’s New Vision for Fall 2011 by Mert & Marcus

Saskia de Brauw and Sean O’Pry star in the new advertising campaign for Versace Fall 2011. It’s a new vision for Versace – it’s dark, edgy and photographed by the talented team of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

“For me, it is expected to have the blonde girl, the sexy girl, and this is what Versace meant recently,” Donatella Versace told WWD on Thursday, during a fitting for the spring 2012 men’s show, scheduled for Monday. “But I thought about how in the past, when Gianni used girls like Kristen McMenamy and Stella Tennant, everyone was always saying, ‘Wow, this is not a Versace girl, she is not blonde.’ Sometimes you need to renew yourself to work better and to make a little bit of a push.”

The campaign, which Alas and Piggott photographed in London last April, was art directed by Giovanni Bianco, who has worked extensively with Steven Klein for Italian Vogue as well as with Madonna. Joe McKenna served as the stylist. “It’s a glamorous woman and it’s a little pop, which I love,” Versace said of the resulting images. “Mert and Marcus are very talented and full of ideas.

“This season is just the beginning,” she added. “I want to push something different and new.”

Go backstage at Versace Fall Winter 2010 fashion show in Milan. Minimal is not a word you normally associate with the house of Versace, but for her Fall 2010 Collection Designer Donatalla Versace decided to do something young and fresh. The model casting really influenced the beauty look that makeup artist Pat McGrath and hairstylist Guido created.

With so many young new faces cast for the show Pat McGrath focused on keeping the girls looking real and gorgeous, and well, just like themselves. The Versace Fall 2010 collection really rocks – it’s full of color, graphic prints and beautiful sexy dresses. In a word, it’s hot.
