“No jewelry, no handbags, no gloves, this was all about attitude and silhouette, shape and cuts”, Karl Lagerfeld gives us an inside look at his Chanel Spring 2014 Haute Couture Collection in Paris. Cara Delevingne opened the Chanel show wearing sporty running shoes with her gorgeous couture gown – a look that is so modern, so cool and so now.

The Chanel Spring 2014 Couture collection was stunning, but it was those sporty, glittery running shoes that everyone was talking about after the show. As Karl explains, “it gives a new modern attitude about Couture”.

The Chanel running shoes took over 30 hours to make and according to British Vogue will only be sold with the full couture outfit. A spokesperson for Chanel told British Vogue “They are only available as part of the Haute Couture look. However, we always have similar versions in our commercial and ready-to-wear collections,” meaning that you will be able to get your hands on the lust worthy trainers – or very similar – at Chanel stockists worldwide this spring. Rochas Spring 2014 backstage with designer Marco Zanini and find out why this, his final collection for the house of Rochas was so close to his heart.

The gorgeous look by Clé de Peau Beauté Makeup Creative Director Lucia Pieroni was hauntingly beautiful. Lucia gave the models a hollowed out eye using the new Clé de Peau Beauté Satin Eyeshadow Color No 107 and Enriched Lip Luminizer No 226 – both products come out in the USA February 2014. Hair stylist Eugene Souleiman said he was taking a “freestyle” approach and his point of reference was British actress Helena Bonham Carter, “it’s about a rawness, a chicness and eccentricity”.

As Marco Zanini explained backstage, “with this job you need to give 100% of yourself – because if you are driven by passion you will go very far”. Just a few days after this collection was presented, it was announced that Marco Zanini will take the helm at the recently revived Schiaparelli fashion house and will show his first collection at the Haute Couture in January 2014. We can’t wait to see what comes next!
