Carine Roitfeld, the influential editor of Paris Vogue announced today she is resigning to pursue personal projects. Roitfeld is a fashion icon known for her fierce style and in her 10 years as editor-in-chief made Paris Vogue one of the most cutting edge titles in fashion. A trend setter and the undisputed star of the front row at fashion week, the news about Roitfeld’s departure was made today on the Paris Vogue website.

Roitfeld is leaving to pursue personal projects, reports Vogue UK. In a telephone interview with the New York Times’ Cathy Horyn, Roitfeld explained: “It’s 10 years that I’m editor of the magazine. I think it’s time to do something different.”
A former model, Carine Roitfeld worked as as stylist and muse to designer Tom Ford when he was at Gucci and YSL and they remain close personal friends.
Fresh on the heels of launching his first women’s collection, Tom Ford guest edited Paris Vogue’s December 2010 issue. Already the rumors are flying that Carine will join forces with Ford when she leaves Paris Vogue in January 2011. We can’t wait to see what’s next.
