Empowered. Strong. Confident. These words exemplify how it feels to be a part of the ferocious clique of supermodels, “It” girls, and starlets that makeup Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain Army. Watch MODTV’s exclusive behind-the-scenes film for Allure Magazine featuring Olivier Rousteing and his Balmain Army – Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Bhumika Arora and Josephine Skriver.

Backstage at Balmain Gigi Hadid told me she feels stronger when she wears Balmain and can feel the brand’s 31-year-old creative director Olivier Rousteing’s energy in his creations.

“Obviously I love Olivier as a person, but as a designer, I think he is so awesome. He always brings a different element to the fashion week, and there is nothing like his pieces. I feel like I fall in love with a different part of every look. I just slip on his clothes, and I feel stronger.”

Gigi who is currently dating singer Zayn Malik – believes the French-born Olivier Rousteing hand picks powerful women, he wants to grace the catwalk in his fashion show and to be a part of the Balmain Army. “He really picks girls that he thinks has a strong look, he wants beautiful, powerful women, and I think that energy we feel from him and his clothes.”

And fellow model Jourdan Dunn, 26, credits the star for standing up for diversity and including women of all ethnicities in his presentations and campaigns. “What Olivier stands for? He stands for diversity. He is all about championing that always, in the shows, and his collections, he is showing women of all ethnicity, it is a strong thing to be a part of. You definitely feel that when you’re walking down the runway in these beautiful garments, you feel empowered.”

Victoria’s Secret top model Adriana Lima is grateful Olivier is open to embracing the modern woman with his designs and commercials. “I feel grateful when I see designers like Olivier embracing the modern woman.” Watch our exclusive Balmain video now and read the story on Allure.Com

Watch our exclusive video at Chanel Fall 2017 backstage with designer Karl Lagerfeld, supermodel Cara Delevingne, Lily-Rose Depp, Pharrell Williams and Lily Allen.

This season, Karl Lagerfeld projects Chanel into space. At the Launch Center N°5 in the heart of the Grand Palais, near the foot of an immense 121 feet-high rocket, 90 models reach for the stars wearing boots that glitter like diamond constellations and headbands embroidered with crystals or faux pearls. “It’s a journey through the sky, to the heart of constellations, in the wake of the astronaut Thomas Pesquet,” explains the designer.

The show was simply out of this world! There were astronaut prints and planet-shaped minaudières, but Lagerfeld also sent out subtle nods to the great era of space exploration, in the form of mod ’60s shift dresses and cap-toe go-go boots. Top models Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner walked in the show, one of the hottest collections at Paris Fashion Week.

The iconic tweed suit is transformed with subtle trompe-l’oeil: square sleeves appear to emerge from a superimposed vest, while wrists are covered with long, silvery fingerless gloves. Beneath tweed skirts, dresses and coats, Bermuda shorts peek out in black, white, silver and grey punctuated with hints of color. Flashing with electric blue and purple, slender silhouettes sparkle with sequins, iridescent thread and crystal embroidery, as well as metallic and beaded braids.

Karl Lagerfeld takes us inside his Chanel Fall 2016/17 “Front Row Only” Ready to Wear Collection at Paris Fashion Week where all 3,000 guests were invited to sit front row. The decor was reminiscent of the salons at 31 Rue Cambon, where Gabrielle Chanel presented her designs.

People complain they can’t see the clothes because they are too far away; this season everyone is front row”  – Karl Lagerfeld.

We loved all the new accessories. Boaters, helmets and riding hats in tweed, felt or leather were fastened by straps adorned with byzantine crosses, pearls or camellias. Models walked down the runway in boots with horizontal lacing or loafers with heels that accentuated a modern attitude.  Witty accessories such as cat cuffs, emoticon jewelry, and bobbin and coat-hanger handbags punctuated the silhouette.

Post show, Karl Lagerfeld told us about the gorgeous beauty look of the show by Tom Pecheux, and why he loves working with the hottest “models of the moment” Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid.  Featuring interviews with Chanel ambassadress Willow Smith and music mogul Pharrell Williams.

Supermodels Doutzen Kroes, Taylor Hill and Isabeli Fontana tell us why they are in love with Mugler and Creative Director David Koma’s futuristic vision and modern sense of style.”He’s an incredible designer and super modern and feminine at the same time, and the fact that he’s so sweet and nice is just a bonus” Doutzen explained backstage.

David Koma is 29 years old, was born in Georgia and is now based in London. He showcased his first collection at the age of 15 after studying Fine Art in Saint Petersburg. Kona graduated in 2009 with distinction in MA Fashion from Central Saint Martins, he launched his signature label in 2009 and was appointed Creative Director of Mugler in 2013. His sexy, ultra body-contouring look appeals to women who want to look cool and confident, but with an edge. “It’s not on purpose; it’s just kind of my handwriting – whatever I do it has a little bit of that futuristic touch,” David Koma told me backstage at his Mugler Spring 2016 show at Paris Fashion Week.

Some of the world’s hottest models from Karlie Kloss to Georgia May Jagger have walked in David Koma’s Mugler shows, and they are all his fans, “it’s one of the main reasons I’m a fashion designer and why I want to do my job is them. Every time I see them walking in my show and being around wearing my clothes, really it inspires me and makes me want to more“.

Get the Supermodel look: go backstage at Esteban Cortazar Fall 2016 with hair stylist and Moroccanoil Creative Director Peter Gray at Paris Fashion Week.

“We went back to gel”, Peter explained, “It was something quintessentially supermodel that we have not seen for ages. I feel that Esteban’s collections really harken back to that era of the supermodel – they’ve got that fabulousness about them”.

“I’m using the Moroccanoil Gel on one side of the head with a side parting, we did this little rope twist, which was intended to separate the two sides of the woman. And then the side is a little softer and more textured, bushed a little bit looser so it flowed a little bit as the girls walked”.

Esteban Cortezar said that he wanted the girls to look fresh and beautiful, “With the hair we just wanted to take it away from the face, accentuate the neck, accentuate the pieces the way they were constructed. With the collection we started with this idea a jock strap – so all those elastics came from that, in the way they were in some of the clothes – these male gymnastics references came into play.”

Designer Giambattista Valli told us he cast Gigi Hadid in his Spring 2016 show because he felt she embodies the spirit of his woman, “She’s perfectly beautiful, and so stunning and so real“.

American born Gigi Hadid is 20 years old and is signed to IMG models and is a social media superstar with over 7.2 million Instagram followers.  She has appeared in Sports Illustrated and is one of the faces of Maybelline New York.  During the recent Spring 2016 fashion month, Gigi walked in some of the world’s hottest designer fashion shows including Anna Sui, Tommy Hilfiger, Versace and Balmain.

Backstage at Giambattista Valli Spring 2016 show supermodel Gigi Hadid speaks to us about body-shaming on social media and the impact of the bold viral post that she recently shared with her Instagram followers.  Hadid had received numerous negative comments on the popular social media app, with some criticizing her curves, slightly jumpy walk and reality show pedigree.  On September 28th she defended herself with a passionate, heartfelt post on her Instagram feed:

“No, I don’t have the same body type as the other models in shows… You can make up all the reasons you think I am where I am, but really, I’m a hard worker that’s confident in myself, one that came at a time where the fashion industry was ready for a change.” @GigiHadid

We caught up with Gigi Hadid backstage at the Giambattista Valli show in Paris to find out more about her empowering message for women everywhere.

Chanel Spring Summer 2016 backstage with Karl Lagerfeld and supermodel Cara Delevingne in Paris. For Spring 2016 Karl Lagerfeld transformed the Grand Palais into a magnificent mock Chanel Airport complete with a baggage check, numbered gates, an arrivals board and baggage carts with double-C logos. Backstage post-show Karl explained why he was inspired by airports and the love of travel –

“…even for expensive Ready-to-Wear and high fashion, you have to be inspired by daily life, clothes have to fit with the life of today, we are not creating something living in an ivory tower that has no relationship to reality “

We are in love with Karl’s airport themed collection – especially all the chic accessories including the new Chanel “Coco Cabin Case” and the light up Velcro sandals. The beauty look at the show was all about the eyes – models came out wearing electric blue eyeshadow or giant mirrored sunglasses. If you are as obsessed with these Chanel sunglasses as we are check out the new Chanel Eyewear E-Commerce boutique launched online November 4th in the US.

For his finale bow Karl came out with his seven-year-old godson Hudson Kroenig (who was dressed as a pilot) and supermodel Cara Delevingne who is one of Karl’s favorite models and close personal friend.  Watch our exclusive Chanel Spring Summer 2016 backstage video featuring top models Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne; interviews with Karl Lagerfeld, Kyle Anderson, Leigh Lezark, Liu Wen, Caroline de Maigret.
