Go backstage with Karlie Kloss, the 19-year-old American beauty who insiders like photographer Mario Testino say is destined to be fashion’s next supermodel. The last year has been an extraordinary journey for Karlie Kloss and we captured some of those moments in this exclusive behind the scenes video.

In the last year, Karlie graduated from high school, walked in every top designer fashion show from Dior to Lanvin, appeared in numerous editorials and ad campaigns and was shot for the cover of LIFE Magazine by fashion photographer Gabrielle Revere. Karlie is the first model to appear on LIFE’s cover in over 20 years, a true honour for this former ballet dancer who grew up in St Louis and is represented by IMG Models.

We followed Karlie behind the scenes at New York, Milan and Paris Spring 2012 fashion week, and caught up with her backstage at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to find out what life has been like for this icon in the making. Find out why Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne adore hair genius Sam McKnight and why Karl Lagerfeld says he is the “best hair stylist in the world.”

Sam McKnight is a professional hair stylist and legend who’s been working in fashion for 40 years. Sam was Princess Diana’s stylist for seven years and he’s styled every supermodel on the planet from Cindy Crawford to Kate Moss, who is also one of his closest friends.

“Sam has been doing this so long, he is a genius. He just flips his finger and the hair looks amazing”, Gigi Hadid told us backstage at Balmain Spring 2017 collection in Paris.

Sam’s new book “Hair by Sam McKnight’, published by Rizzoli was released this week, it’s a personal visual diary of his remarkable career, “it’s forty years of fashion through hair”.

Sam creates the looks for the biggest fashion runway shows in the world, including Chanel, Fendi, Balmain and DSquared2 and has been working with Karl Lagerfeld for the last decade. We’ve been filming backstage with Sam during that entire time and had the opportunity to produce this mini-documentary film about Sam McKnight for Allure Magazine. Featuring interviews with Karl Lagerfeld, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss and Doutzen Kroes.

Olivier Rousteing on Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and His Balmain Army

Empowered. Strong. Confident. These words exemplify how it feels to be a part of the ferocious clique of supermodels, “It” girls, and starlets that makeup Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain Army. Watch MODTV’s exclusive behind-the-scenes film for Allure Magazine featuring Olivier Rousteing and his Balmain Army – Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Bhumika Arora and Josephine Skriver.

Backstage at Balmain Gigi Hadid told me she feels stronger when she wears Balmain and can feel the brand’s 31-year-old creative director Olivier Rousteing’s energy in his creations.

“Obviously I love Olivier as a person, but as a designer, I think he is so awesome. He always brings a different element to the fashion week, and there is nothing like his pieces. I feel like I fall in love with a different part of every look. I just slip on his clothes, and I feel stronger.”

Gigi who is currently dating singer Zayn Malik – believes the French-born Olivier Rousteing hand picks powerful women, he wants to grace the catwalk in his fashion show and to be a part of the Balmain Army. “He really picks girls that he thinks has a strong look, he wants beautiful, powerful women, and I think that energy we feel from him and his clothes.”

And fellow model Jourdan Dunn, 26, credits the star for standing up for diversity and including women of all ethnicities in his presentations and campaigns. “What Olivier stands for? He stands for diversity. He is all about championing that always, in the shows, and his collections, he is showing women of all ethnicity, it is a strong thing to be a part of. You definitely feel that when you’re walking down the runway in these beautiful garments, you feel empowered.”

Meet Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s 15-year-old daughter and modeling’s next big thing. She is the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty and the new face of the fragrance ‘Daisy’. We first met Kaia backstage at Public School fashion show over a year ago. It was Kaia’s first New York Fashion Week and she was so excited to be there and happy to chat with us about her hot modeling career.

Kaia Gerber is signed with IMG Models globally and just shot the cover of Vogue Paris with her mom Cindy Crawford photographed by Mario Testino. She also appears in campaigns for Alexander Wang Spring 2016 and Chrome Hearts and has also shot with Steven Meisel for Vogue Italia.

Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid take us backstage at the DVF Fall 2016 experience at New York Fashion Week. Top models Karlie Kloss, Lily Aldridge, Irina Shayk, Yumi Lambert, isabella Emmack, Madison Stubbington take us inside the fashion presentation with designer Diane Von Furstenberg.

Instead of a fashion show, this season Diane Von Furstenberg decided to create a “happening” inside her West 14th headquarters in New York City.
