Missoni Spring 2013 Backstage Beauty by Lucia Pieroni

Watch our Missoni Spring 2013 Backstage Beauty video with makeup artist Lucia Pieroni and see how to get one of the hottest looks for spring: a bold lip with a pop of hot colour featuring top model Cara Delevingne.

Lucia Pieroni described the beauty look of the Missoni Spring 2013 show as “cosmic couture”. This girl has a “gorgeous ethereal aura about her”. Lucia gave the models a manga-inspired lip – “it’s super stamped on, blurred around the edges in a lipstick that is a custom mix of fluorescent hot pink and orange“.

Get Gorgeous: The look of Missoni Spring Summer 2012

Go backstage at Missoni Spring Summer 2012 with designer Angela Missoni and get the look of this sexy, colorful Mediterranean inspired collection. “It’s alot of fun – we’re back to sexy”, Margherita Missoni told me backstage before the show.

The models were supposed to look like they had been dancing all night, so artist Lucia Pieroni used Mac highlighter to give the models that sexy glow. Really big bushy eye brows and a nude lip with a little bit of shine finished the look – the result was gorgeous. Hair stylist Eugene Souleiman used several styling products by Wella to give the models a three day old “dirty, sexy look”. “This is not a pristine woman, this is a woman who lives,” Eugene explained backstage.

Missoni for Target – one of the most hyped, anticipated designer capsule collections, hits Target stores nationwide on September 13th. Missoni is one of Italy’s hottest luxury fashion brands and since 1953 has been known worldwide for it’s eclectic prints, patterns and colors. The Missoni for Target collection is reportedly the biggest designer collaboration the retailer has done. The range includes everything from childrenswear, womenswear, menswear, to products for the home.

Missoni’s Fall 2010 campaign film shot by 83 year-old experimental filmmaker, actor and writer Kenneth Anger is avant garde and incredibly cool. It features the entire Missoni clan and is truly one of the most experimental fashion films we’ve seen this year.

“I’m fascinated by Kenneth Anger’s use of color and his ability to transform a film into a three-dimensional texture, a fabric of images in movement,” Angela Missoni told Italian Vogue. The film is done in the hallucinatory, soft and dynamic style typical of Anger’s work.

Kenneth Anger (born Kenneth Wilbur Anglemeyer; February 3, 1927) is an American underground experimental filmmaker, actor and author. Working exclusively in short films, he has produced almost forty works since 1937, nine of which in particular have been grouped together as the “Magick Lantern Cycle”, and form the basis of Anger’s reputation as one of the most influential independent filmmakers in cinema history.
