The Gucci Menswear Collection for Spring|Summer 2011 was inspired in part by the music of the Rolling Stones 60’s classic “Exile on Mainstreet“. Backstage after the show, Designer Frida Giannini said the collection is about “unconventional luxury” and is for a man that describes his soul as a “gypsy deluxe”. “It’s this delicate balance between the formal and unconventional with the free spirited non-chalant attitude“. The Burberry man for Spring|Summer 2011 is a modern “road warrior” with a rock and roll edge. Burberry streamed the fashion show live from Milan earlier today on their website.
While there were plenty of classic military inspired looks, the pieces that really stood out are biker inspired : tailored leather pants, motorcycle jackets, and the vests with studs that looked like armor. The show was strong, confident and one of designer Christopher Bailey’s best for the British house.
Backstage after the show Christopher Bailey said the show’s biker looks were inspired by a book of proto-greaser designs by Thomas Burberry. It’s a hot collection and it’s sure to be a real hit. Dolce & Gabbana just posted the video of their Spring|Summer 2011 Collection to their You Tube channel. The show was presented earlier today in Milan and was streamed live on Dolce & Gabbana’s website.
This Spring Summer collection is a winner – full of soft, creamy pieces, tailored but light. Dolce & Gabbana celebrate 20 years in fashion this year, and this season they’ve decided to keep it classic, remaining true to their southern Italian roots. The collection is sensual, sophisticated and very Sicilian – it’s exactly how a confident man wants to look in the summer.
