Top Model Karlie Kloss

Go backstage with Karlie Kloss, the 19-year-old American beauty who insiders like photographer Mario Testino say is destined to be fashion’s next supermodel. The last year has been an extraordinary journey for Karlie Kloss and we captured some of those moments in this exclusive behind the scenes video.

In the last year, Karlie graduated from high school, walked in every top designer fashion show from Dior to Lanvin, appeared in numerous editorials and ad campaigns and was shot for the cover of LIFE Magazine by fashion photographer Gabrielle Revere. Karlie is the first model to appear on LIFE’s cover in over 20 years, a true honour for this former ballet dancer who grew up in St Louis and is represented by IMG Models.

We followed Karlie behind the scenes at New York, Milan and Paris Spring 2012 fashion week, and caught up with her backstage at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to find out what life has been like for this icon in the making. Zoe Saldana is the new international spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris. The actress confirmed the news to E! explaining that she’s been taught women are “worth it” since a very young age.

“Growing up, I was taught to believe that I am capable to do anything a man can do,” she said. “This family philosophy has shaped who I am today, and is a conviction that will always accompany me through life.”

“As a L’Oréal Paris spokesperson, being able to say, ‘We’re worth it,’ means so much to me,” she continued. “I want to share that value with women so they can embrace it and execute life with confidence. I am thrilled to join this beauty journey with such an inspirational brand.”

Saldan’s deal with the French cosmetics and beauty company will include print and TV ads. The brand’s global president Cyril Chapuy said the Star Trek actress embodied “infallible force and asserted femininity.”

“Zoe astonishes with her audacious style and feline beauty,” Chapuy said. “Attached to her values, unafraid to speak her mind, and confident in her own skin.” Other spokeswomen for the L’Oréal Paris include Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, Julianne Moore, Freida Pinto, Eva Longoria and Jane Fonda. Go backstage with supermodel Karlie Kloss for the making of ‘Prodigy’ her first L’Oreal Paris TV campaign. The TV spot for Prodigy, a new hair color line currently only available in France also features top models Lara Stone, Liya Kebede, Alexina Graham, Izabel Goulart and Eniko Mihalik.

At 21, Karlie Kloss is already at the top of the fashion industry. She has walked in every top runway show from Michael Kors to Chanel and also a Victoria’s Secret Angel. This is the first time the all-American beauty has worked with L’Oreal Paris and we’re sure it won’t be her last. Two weeks ago the company released images on their Instagram and Twitter with the words “more to come”.
