Supermodel Cameron Russell stars in the new Prada Resort 2014 campaign photographed by Steven Meisel, with makeup by Pat McGrath and hair by Guido Palau.

Cameron Russell is 25 and one of the coolest, intelligent young models we know. You may know her from her runway appearances in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but Cameron is also known for her activist projects and a ‘Looks Aren’t Everything’ TED Talk, which went viral last year.

Cameron also runs the blog ArtRoots.info, which is dedicated to covering grassroots public art and political power and experiments with creating street art herself. In addition, Cameron is the director of The Big Bad Lab, which creates participatory art that aims to include people in radical demonstrations of positive social change.

Watch our exclusive Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 backstage beauty video with makeup artist Peter Philips, hair stylist Guido Palau. This Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 collection designed by Sarah Burton was breath taking and magical and it looked like a haute couture collection. The Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 show was bold, futuristic and outer-worldly beautiful.

Hair stylist Guido Palau explained the look was manga inspired, “the feeling of the show is that beautiful, powerful McQueen woman but this time she is more futuristic”. All the models looked alike – each had a platinum blonde wig and each girl wore a mirrored silver visor that covered up almost the whole face.

Makeup artist Peter Philips gave the models beautiful, pure, alabaster ivory skin using Chanel Mat Lumiere foundation. As Peter explained “you can feel the face through the visor, but you don’t really see one”.

“It’s definitely art” actress Salma Hayek told me after the show. “It takes you somewhere special, you never know where she (Sarah) is going to take you, it’s ethereal, it really transports you somewhere”.

Allure Backstage – Lanvin Fall 2012 Backstage Beauty Video. The Lanvin Fall 2012 fashion show was one of the most unforgettable nights at Paris Fashion week. Designer Alber Elbaz celebrated his 10th anniversary with the house and so he decided to stage his fall 2012 fashion show and throw a party the same night.

Backstage the mood was also upbeat – Alber wanted the models to have a bold modern look so makeup artist Pat McGrath gave all the girls black winged liner. Guido Palau decided to keep the hair relaxed hair to complement the rich colors and feminine silhouettes seen on the runway. As Guido explained to us backstage “It’s a little bit of a trashy girl wearing very sophisticated clothing, but she lives in a dark Lynchesque world”. Allure Backstage – Prada Fall 2012 Backstage Beauty Video. Go backstage at Prada Fall 2012 with top model Natasha Poly to see the look makeup artist Pat McGrath and hairstylist Guido Palau created for the show that was simply out of this world. As Pat explained to me backstage, “Mrs Prada was talking about the girls looking like virtual princesses. So we’ve done makeup from another world. We used black cream purple eyeshadow, black eyeliner, white eyeliner, orange cream shadows“. Pat also bleached all the models brows and painted them orange. “The look is alot like Rooney Mara which is quite a huge trend for Fall“.

Miuccia Prada is always pushing fashion forward, but the extreme beauty look Pat McGrath created inspired us to dream, think about the future and to consider how technology is affecting us all.

The inspiration – “A strong woman that wants to appear to seduce” designer Eva Cavalli explained to us after the show. The hair look Guido created was soft and pretty, not the ultra vixen look we’ve come to expect here. The Roberto Cavalli collection for Spring 2012 is opulent and shimmers with gold, hand embroidered, couture like pieces.
