Milan Fashion Week:  Gucci Designer Frida Giannini knows how to deliver clothes that are ready to wear.   Her menswear collection for Spring 2012 strength is it’s just so desirable. From the cut of the narrow pants, to the tailored fitted jackets and the return of the bow-tie for evening – it’s elegant but cool.

I was thinking about Michael Caine of the ’60s,’’ Frida Giannini, the Gucci designer, said backstage to Guy Trebay of the New York Times before her spring 2012 show. “The unconventional, relaxed Michael Caine of “Alfie, the way he wore his suits with an open shirt.’’

The collection felt like it was made for young, fashionable guys like stylist and Bravo TV reality star Brad Goreski, who has made the bow-tie his signature look.  Goreski is currently in Milan reporting for Details Magazine and in the fall you will be able to see him on his new reality show on Bravo called It’s a Brad Brad World.

We love the whole mood of new Gucci Menswear collection for Spring 2012 and we’re sure it will be a hit when the collection goes in stores next year. You can really imagine any man wanting to dress this way.

The Gucci Menswear Collection for Spring|Summer 2011 was inspired in part by the music of the Rolling Stones 60’s classic “Exile on Mainstreet“. Backstage after the show, Designer Frida Giannini said the collection is about “unconventional luxury” and is for a man that describes his soul as a “gypsy deluxe”. “It’s this delicate balance between the formal and unconventional with the free spirited non-chalant attitude“. Allure Backstage Spring 2008 makeup trends: Black Liner. Use a heavy hand to create deliberately imperfect, rock and roll eyeliner. Some makeup artists used the black eyeliner minimally just to give the eye a clear definition. But most used a heavy hand and went for deliberately imperfect result. Whenever you get a black liner in your hand you immediately connect it to rock and roll, and the messier it is and the rougher it looks the more rock and roll it looks.

Pat McGrath was talking about Debbie Harry so it had a punk look to it – it was really a little rebellious and fun – it gave the makeup some spirit. “It is quite daring isn’t it?” Pat said to us backstage at Gucci. As designer Frida Giannini explained “I wanted to create a balance between the 50’s and a modern age with the rock star and pop star like Deborah Harry, Madonna, David Bowie and others”
