Saskia de Brauw for Versace Fall 2011Sean o'pry for Versace Fall 2011

Saskia de Brauw and Sean O’Pry star in the new advertising campaign for Versace Fall 2011. It’s a new vision for Versace – it’s dark, edgy and photographed by the talented team of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

For me, it is expected to have the blonde girl, the sexy girl, and this is what Versace meant recently,” Donatella Versace told WWD on Thursday, during a fitting for the spring 2012 men’s show, scheduled for Monday. “But I thought about how in the past, when Gianni used girls like Kristen McMenamy and Stella Tennant, everyone was always saying, ‘Wow, this is not a Versace girl, she is not blonde.’ Sometimes you need to renew yourself to work better and to make a little bit of a push.

The campaign, which Alas and Piggott photographed in London last April, was art directed by Giovanni Bianco, who has worked extensively with Steven Klein for Italian Vogue as well as with Madonna. Joe McKenna served as the stylist. “It’s a glamorous woman and it’s a little pop, which I love,” Versace said of the resulting images. “Mert and Marcus are very talented and full of ideas.

“This season is just the beginning,” she added. “I want to push something different and new.”

Tom Ford has produced a short look book video starring Abbey Lee Kershaw, Natasha Poly, Arizona Muse, and Anja Rubik for his Fall 2011 Collection.  These are the first images anyone has seen of Ford’s actual collection that was shown at a top secret, private, invitation-only presentation during London Fashion Week in February. All the editors and invited guests were asked to sign confidentiality agreements restricting the release of any reviews or photos until the summer.

Just like his Tom Ford’s Spring 2011 collection, no outside fashion TV camera crews or fashion photographers were invited to document the event. So this video teaser published on Tom Ford’s website is the first images we have seen of the collection. What can we say, this collection was worth the wait –  it’s breathtakingly beautiful and absolutely stunning.

Burberry Fall 2011 Cara Delevingne

Burberry’s Fall 2011 Ad Campaign features British models Cara Delevingne, Amber Anderson, Johnny George and Jake Cooper. Mario Testino photographed the campaign in London with Burberry Creative Director Christopher Bailey.

As Bailey explains ”..I was inspired by iconic British portraits and our own archive campaigns from the late 1960s of Jean Shrimpton using her trench coat to shelter herself from the poetic and romantic British weather. We wanted to create a group of portraits celebrating British actors, musicians and models.”
