Cara Delevingne and Miranda Kerr give us an exclusive look at Stella McCartney Spring 2014 backstage at Paris Fashion Week. Miranda and Cara adore Stella McCartney for the same reason, “the Stella girl is effortlessly chic and elegant without having to try”.
Stella McCartney’s Spring Summer 2014 collection is all about the idea of approaching summer “in an honest way – the masculinity is still there but it’s also about that fluidity and femininity, it’s the idea that the clothes aren’t wearing you” she explained just moments after the show. It’s one of the strongest collections by Stella McCartney, full of gorgeous clothes and some of the hottest accessories that we want now – especially the sunglasses.
The beauty look makeup artist Pat McGrath created for the show perfectly captures that Stella cool-girl look. As Pat explained backstage “Stella wanted something more rebellious so we did an eyeliner on top of the eye and underneath the eye as well. It’s natural, fresh, tough and strong”. The chic look that Eugene Souleiman created was “quite strict but had a softness about it”. Models wore ponytails with a deep side part that gave them a masculine look but had a fresh sexiness about it.

Rochas Spring 2014 backstage with designer Marco Zanini and find out why this, his final collection for the house of Rochas was so close to his heart.
The gorgeous look by Clé de Peau Beauté Makeup Creative Director Lucia Pieroni was hauntingly beautiful. Lucia gave the models a hollowed out eye using the new Clé de Peau Beauté Satin Eyeshadow Color No 107 and Enriched Lip Luminizer No 226 – both products come out in the USA February 2014. Hair stylist Eugene Souleiman said he was taking a “freestyle” approach and his point of reference was British actress Helena Bonham Carter, “it’s about a rawness, a chicness and eccentricity”.
As Marco Zanini explained backstage, “with this job you need to give 100% of yourself – because if you are driven by passion you will go very far”. Just a few days after this collection was presented, it was announced that Marco Zanini will take the helm at the recently revived Schiaparelli fashion house and will show his first collection at the Haute Couture in January 2014. We can’t wait to see what comes next!

Stella McCartney is one of our favorite designers, she is an incredible woman who instinctively understands how a cool girl wants to dress. Her fashion show is staged at the Paris Opera, one of the most beautiful historic locations in Paris which makes this and one of the must see events of Paris Fashion Week. Top models like Karlie Kloss, Arizona Muse and Joan Smalls walk in her runway show because they love Stella’s vibe and the her natural approach to beauty and style. For Spring Summer 2013 Stella McCartney wanted to keep the beauty look simple but chic. Hairstylist Eugene Souleiman did a minimal hair look and makeup artist Pat McGrath kept the focus on the eyes adding a line of turquoise green eyeliner. The fresh beauty look complimented Stella McCartney’s Spring 2013 collection that was athletic, graphic and green. “We had green in the collection so I wanted a dark green line” Stella explained backstage after the show. “For me, green is a specific message – it’s fresh, it’s direct, it’s straight to the point but at the same time it’s new”. Stella McCartney Fall 2013 beauty by makeup artist Pat McGrath and hairstylist Eugene Souleiman and go backstage with top models Bette Franke and Aymeline Valade.
The beauty look for Stella McCartney Fall 2013 was minimal but gorgeous. Pat McGrath used mascara in black on top lashes and brown on the bottom ones to emphasize the eyes, “it’s all about a beautiful lash“, Pat said backstage, adding that the look overall was all about groomed eyebrows and perfected skin. “It’s just very Stella, it’s very fresh.”
Hairstylist Eugene Souleiman said he was creating a look for the models that was “more handsome. “What we’re doing is this kind of almost men’s groomed look, but with a matte texture.” He used Wella’s Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Hairspray and the result was just so cool, effortless and chic. Go backstage at Missoni Spring Summer 2012 with designer Angela Missoni and get the look of this sexy, colorful Mediterranean inspired collection. “It’s alot of fun – we’re back to sexy”, Margherita Missoni told me backstage before the show.
The models were supposed to look like they had been dancing all night, so artist Lucia Pieroni used Mac highlighter to give the models that sexy glow. Really big bushy eye brows and a nude lip with a little bit of shine finished the look – the result was gorgeous. Hair stylist Eugene Souleiman used several styling products by Wella to give the models a three day old “dirty, sexy look”. “This is not a pristine woman, this is a woman who lives,” Eugene explained backstage.
Top models Nyasha Matonhodze, Danielle Z and Alison Nix take us behind the scenes. Watch our Missoni Spring 2013 fashion video here now and check out our backstage photo gallery by photographer Robert Fairer.
