Allure Backstage Spring 2008 makeup trendsDeep Red Lips. Spring 2008: No doubt—deep red crimson lips are daring and very unexpected for Spring. At many of the show, makeup artists made the nearly always matte lipstick feel informal by putting them on casually with a fingertip. There was a theme running through all the shows of a certain artsy-ness. It was this really done up, artistic, urban girl.
Backstage at Dolce & Gabbana makeup artist Pat McGrath explained the inspiration
“..she’s running around with the art crowd, she’s very contemporary looking and she’s very artistic. I think people are really excited about makeup and I think there’s a whole lot going on with clubs and people just doing what they want to do and I think that whole freedom reflects what’s going here backstage”.
