On July 7th, 2016 Fendi will celebrate its 90th anniversary with a “haute fourrure” Couture show in Rome. Karl Lagerfeld has been Fendi’s Creative Director for over 50 years and in our exclusive interview at his Fall 2012 Fendi fashion show, Karl Lagerfeld talks about his love of the iPad and fashion in the digital age.

The beauty look of Fendi’s Fall 2012 collection has a dark, northern Victorian feel about it. Sam McKnight gave the models small tight braids and makeup artist Peter Philips kept the focus on the eyes with a feathered out white chalky eyeshadow that he feathered out on the eye. Watch our exclusive backstage video at Fendi Fall 2012 with designer Karl Lagerfeld, Silvia Fendi and top models Natasha Poly, Magdelena Frackowiak.

Fendi Livestream with Drones

Fendi announced today via WWD – camera-mounted drones will capture and livestream Fendi’s AW14 show during Milan Fashion Week. For the first time ever, high-definition cameras attached to drones will capture an aerial view of Thursday’s runway show and broadcast the action live to a global audience via Fendi.com. Go to Dazed Digital to see a sneak preview.

Fendi fans will have the choice of switching between the classic runway view captured by cameras on the ground and aerial shots filmed by the flying, Fendi-branded Drone Cam. If you miss the drone action, you’ll be able to replay the drone footage on the brand’s website.

Fendi is also reaching out to “hundreds of thousands of individuals that are eager to see the collection” that can’t physically be at the location. In particular, the company is investing in the development of its digital content to speak to a younger customer base, president and CEO of Fendi Pietro Beccari, told WWD.

Fendi Creative Director and designer Karl Lagerfeld has always been at the cutting edge of all things digital.  “Fendi’s digital strategy resolves to continuously raise the profile of the brand, which has always been synonymous with creativity, quality and innovation,” said Fendi President and CEO Pietro Beccari in a statement. “We are enthusiastic to be the first using this technology on the catwalk which will allow us, once again, to be pioneers in our field and projected towards the future.  In addition, we will allow our fans to see our fashion show like no one has ever seen before.”

The annual Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Ball brings some of the hottest names in fashion and Hollywood together. Amazon is underwriting the benefit and the “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Converastions” Exhibit.

Burberry fashion designer Christopher Bailey is at the forefront of digital fashion, and his latest “Burberry World Live“, a 360 immersive fashion experience, began in Taipei on 26 April 2012.

Bailey designed a custom cylindrical space that brought to life the Burberry worlds of British Heritage, Fashion, Music and Weather to celebrate the opening of the Burberry Taiwan flagship store at Taipei 101.

Could Burberry World Live could be the future of fashion?  There are no models strutting down a fashion runway – instead it combines an eight part 360 degree film, a live musical performance and digital weather experience.  It’s stunning, gorgeous and very cool to watch.

Burberry World Live will tour cities globally including London, Hong Kong and Chicago later this year.

This multi-sensory experience is the first to blur the physical and digital dimensions of the brand. Watch the Burberry World Live fashion video here now.
