Roberto Cavalli Spring 2012 Ad Campaign features four iconic models – Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson, Kristen McMenamy and Daphne Groeneveld.

Steven Meisel shot the campaign at Pier 59 studios in New York, in a simple backdrop that kept the focus on the printed silk dresses and the hand embroidered glittering pieces that look more like couture than ready to wear.

The inspiration behind all that decadent gold? As Creative Director Eva Cavalli explained to us backstage at the Roberto Cavalli Spring 2012 Fashion Show in Milan, the collection is about optimism – “we wanted to make shine this world that sometimes very dark“.

Nyasha Matonhodze, a Zimbabwean-born, British-raised 16-year-old model, has been chosen as one of the new faces of Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2011 Ad Campaign. Nyasha entered the modelling world just two years ago after winning the UK Elite Model Look competition in 2009 and is represented by Elite Models in London.

Joining Nyasha Matonhodze in the campaign are Zuzanna Bijoch, 17, Daphne Groenveld, 16, Gertrud Hegelund, 20 and Fei Fei Sun, 21. The campaign was photographed by Steven Meisel. “Who wouldn’t want to be this gorgeous young woman in the back seat of this beautiful car?” asks Marc Jacobs, Vuitton’s artistic director, highlighting the tongue-in-cheek take on the French brand’s familiar travel theme.

Steven Meisel shot the campaign, with styling by Karl Templer, makeup by Pat McGrath and hair by Guido Palau. It is slated to break in August issues. Source WWD.

Girl Power. The fall 2010 campaign for Miu Miu features top models Lindsey Wixson, Ginta Lapina, Daphne Groeneveld and Siri Tollerod being playful in some of the most feminine looks of the season.
