Backstage at DSquared2 Spring Summer 2012 it was fashion meets rock and roll; the inspiration of their fashion show – the Glastonbury Music Festival. Designers Dean and Dan Caten know how to create an unforgettable experience and for Spring Summer 2012 they brought the Glastonbury festival experience to life from the music to the muddy runway. As all the top models told us backstage – this is definitely the hottest fashion show of Milan Fashion week.

Dean and Dan confess they were inspired by every glam rock chic from Kate Moss to Beyonce for their DSquared2 Spring Summer 2012 collection. MAC Makeup aritst Charlotte Tilbury layered on the eye glitter and hair stylist Sam McKnight used Pantene Aqua Light leave in conditioner to give that “two day old slept in look”, and to make sure every model looked individual and cool.

Dean and Dan know how to make clothes that you actually want to wear and their spectacular fashion shows transport you to a place where you dream to be. From their cool jeans and t-shirts, gorgeous leather jackets to the hot beachwear this collection rocked. Lara Stone is the face of TOM FORD Beauty – the range is set to launch worldwide this Fall.  Stone was recently signed to an exclusive contract to Calvin Klein, but she now stars alongside Tom Ford in the campaign for his new beauty collection photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Ford’s new beauty range incorporates color, cosmetics and skincare and overall he’s more about color than a nude face.  As he told WWD “..For night, it’s a strong eye and a strong mouth.” Indeed, even his lip glosses — with racy names like Lost Cherry — are packed with pigment. Eyes are most definitely smoky, and the key is to “anchor” intense colors around the eye with a rim of kohl-effect pencil, said Ford. British makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury worked with Ford on the cosmetic range.

Allure Backstage Spring 2008 makeup trend. Colorful shadowsBright eyes—in nearly every shade of the rainbow—run the gamut from soft to full-on glittery. Nothing says spring more than color which is why this trend is our number one pick for the top trend of the season. Makeup artists dreamed in color this season, dabbing eyes with nearly every shade of the rainbow. Some stuck to a wash of pink and orange on the lids, while others rimmed all around the eyes in energetic shades of green, purple and blue.

Charlotte Tilbury used turquoise glitter on the eyes at Missoni,  “we’re doing something a bit more rock and roll, something a little bit more Kate Moss, a little bit more destroyed makeup. At Michael Kors Dick Page used a violet liner, yellow gold highlight on the brow bone, orange on the outer corner of the eye, pink on the lid “so it looks like a little fruit salad effect”.

Michael Kors said he loved the colours “Dick and I sat down and said this is all about this juicy face, so we are really playing with more colour on the eye than we ever have done before. This collection is really about celebrating sunshine and warm weather – optimistic in a word”.
