Madonna has released the video for her new Japanese skincare line “MDNA SKIN”. Watch the clip here now.

“Having good skin is important to me…” the 55-year-old popstar purrs in a voice over, “but so are other things.” ‘Other things’ that, judging from the commercial, may or may not include lying on a floor while people walk by her, admiring herself in a mirror, doing that “Itsby Bitsy Spider” finger crawling thing on her own leg, saying “shhhh…,”

According to Us Weekly the three-product MDNA line is currently only available in Japan.

Marc Jacobs Beauty has launched exclusively at Sephora, a gorgeous line of makeup products that are as inspiring and cool as Marc Jacobs fashion shows at New York and Paris fashion week.  The 120-piece range features 16 products priced from $18 to $78 and was manufactured in partnership with and will be sold exclusively by Sephora, which is owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

Beauty is all the rage in fashion – designers like Tom Ford, Michael Kors and even Burberry now have beauty lines.  It’s become important part of communicating the designer’s vision and marketing the brand.

So how does Marc Jacobs define beauty?  As he explains in the video released by Sephora, “I think it’s youth, it’s energy, it’s something you are attracted to and makeup is something that accentuates your features and plays up that spirit that you want to project“. The was the designer’s goal to create a very desirable product that really illustrates how he feels about beauty as he explains in the video “it’s a luxury that women love to indulge in”.

Supermodel Liya Kebede has been named the new face of L’Oreal Paris. The 33 year old mother of two is the newest global ambassador for L’Oreal Paris working alongside Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Gwen Stefani.


Liya was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and is currently represented by IMG Models. The supermodel’s big break came in 2000 when designer Tom Ford booked her for the Gucci show, and she quickly became a huge star on the international fashion scene. In 2003 she was the first woman of color to be signed to a cosmetics contract with Estee Lauder. Since 2005 she has worked with WHO, the World Health Organization’s Ambassador for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health.

Liya is a very strong, inspiring, and courageous woman, with an extremely refined and enchanting beauty. Her generous commitment to the cause of women’s wellbeing is also remarkable,” says Cyril Chapuy, Global Brand President of L’Oreal Paris.

Kate Moss is the new face of Dior Addict lipstick and the star of the luxury brand’s fashion film called ‘Be Iconic’. In the 90 second short Kate Moss is captured in scenes from her glamorous life; in her Paris dressing room, pushing through a paparazzi scrum, getting dressed in the backseat of her car and applying Dior Addict lipstick. Moss wears No. 578 Dior Kiss.

Top Model Britt Maren is making beauty news again.  The 20 year Texan beauty walked the Alexander Wang Fall 2011 runway show last night debuting her new brunette hair color.

Britt shot to fame last September opening the Alexander Wang Spring 2011 show in New York and starred in every major Spring collectionincluding Michael Kors, Balmain and Lanvin and made major news when she cropped her hair short and went platinum blonde for Balenciaga. We spoke to Britt backstage at Alexander Wang last night just before the show and asked her about her latest transformation.

Jennifer Lopez, the multifaceted entertainer-turned-fashion designer has landed a multi year, multimillion-dollar contract to become a global brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris, a mass market beauty division of L’Oréal USA. The announcement was made in WWD today.

Jennifer Lopez first TV commercial for L’Oreal Paris for Eversleek haircare was filmed at Silver Cup Studios in New York in November. MODTV filmed the behind the scenes of the commercial, and the “making of” backstage video will be streamed on line to L’Oréal Paris’ Facebook page when the ad airs during the Golden Globes January 16, 2011.

In an interview with WWD today Lopez explained “You can’t help that when you work collaboratively with a team where you are the focus that how you look and feel is very important to how you portray something. So what I wear and how the hair and makeup is and how I move and choose to move in the [ad] campaign says a lot for the product and what we are trying to portray”.

Lopez, who said she was approached by the beauty brand, will launch the company’s new take on TV advertising in 2011, which aims to be more intimate and conversational. Cyril Chapuy, global brand president, L’Oréal Paris, said the inspiration behind the TV shoot was Lopez herself.

The script was written from day one with Jennifer in mind. It was never just another commercial, it was designed for Jennifer’s personality. She is the one speaking directly to the camera, there is no voice-over and she speaks in her own words,” he said, adding that “the look of the styling and set was also defined es- pecially for her…[which] had a very intense energy.”

But perhaps in 2011, Jennifer Lopez will again be known for her music. She is, after all, the woman who sang “If You Had My Love,” a runaway club hit, video success and her first number-one single from her 1999 debut studio album, “On the 6.” Jennifer Lopez new album, “Love,” is scheduled for a 2011 release.
