Pat McGrath talks to us about the Max Factor Star Wars makeup collection she created. Pat McGrath is Max Factor Global Creative Design Director and she gave us an exclusive behind the scenes look with Max Factor at the Star Wars™ “Fashion Finds the Force Event” in London, England.

The six final looks, designed in pairs reflecting the theme of ‘Light vs Dark’ see McGrath take on Star Wars favourites from C3PO to the Jedi.  And for those feeling confident in their application skills, Boots.com will be the place to be next month when Max Factor releases a limited edition line of Star Wars-inspired make-up in a flash sale. The looks are paired into Jedi and Dark Apprentice, Chrome and Droid, and Mystic and Stormtrooper. Continuing the theme of the forthcoming film – Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which was released worldwide in December – Max Factor says it is inviting women to employ make-up artistry to explore their own light and dark sides and to understand the positive effects of transformation. For more and to shop the limited edition makeup collection visit MaxFactor.co.uk  Produced in association with Max Factor UK.

Stella McCartney is one of our favorite designers, she is an incredible woman who instinctively understands how a cool girl wants to dress. Her fashion show is staged at the Paris Opera, one of the most beautiful historic locations in Paris which makes this and one of the must see events of Paris Fashion Week.  Top models like Karlie Kloss, Arizona Muse and Joan Smalls walk in her runway show because they love Stella’s vibe and the her natural approach to beauty and style. For Spring Summer 2013 Stella McCartney wanted to keep the beauty look simple but chic.   Hairstylist Eugene Souleiman did a minimal hair look and makeup artist Pat McGrath kept the focus on the eyes adding a line of turquoise green eyeliner. The fresh beauty look complimented Stella McCartney’s Spring 2013 collection that was athletic, graphic and green. “We had green in the collection so I wanted a dark green line” Stella explained backstage after the show. “For me, green is a specific message – it’s fresh, it’s direct, it’s straight to the point but at the same time it’s new”.  Discover more and shop the Stella McCartney Collection online now.

Go backstage at Roberto Cavalli Spring 2013 with designers Roberto and Eva Cavalli.   The Cavalli look for spring is all about a cool, sophisticated girl who has an effortless approach to beauty.  As designer Eva Cavalli explained “If you are a beautiful girl you don’t want to overdo – she doesn’t need so much”.

Guido Palau kept the hair very natural, “there is an ease and the realness with the glamour of these clothes that works”.

Roberto Cavalli loves beauty and wants to make a every woman who wears his clothes feel special “the inspiration was to make something different and keep the Cavalli style.  I love the to give the feeling to see and not to see – try to create a new romanticism”.

Backstage after the show, Eva Cavalli explained the collection is “a hymn to the body of the woman.  We started with white and blonde women and ended with dark haired women wearing mostly black.  That is how women are -we are an angel and we get dangerous sometimes – and we like to be dangerous”.
