From her controversial nude photo shoots, to appearing on the catwalk at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to her numerous ad campaigns and editorial shoots, Karlie is Vogue’s top model of the year. Karlie appeared in editorials in over nine international editions of Vogue in 2012, and appearing in a total of 20 issues, many of them covers.

I’m speak about avarage person, not a person with fast metabolism, and I know body types are different… Because if I eat the same as my bf I will gain 5 pounds in less than a week…
that’s why her calorie intake should depend on her height? lol what.. and you shouldn’t assume that every person that is 5’2 and eats 1000-1500 calories a day will be fat, because everybody’s body is different.
That was the leanest I’ve seen her, but she’s still no higher than 15 percent which can be perfectly healthy. She just had a shoot come out today with 6 pack abs.
Well she’s gained body fat since then, but yes back then she was as low as she could go without risking ill health. I would agree she looked as if she was around 13%, maybe as low as 10% for the vogue shoot. An important thing to remember is that it isn’t unusual for models — and bodybuilders — to cut their body fat as low as possible, to levels that can only be maintained for a few hours, for the sake of a photoshoot or contest.
And other important thing, many times your exterior body doesn’t say anything about body fat. My best friend two years ago was skinny than myself and her percentage of body fat was much high than mine. She has 31% of body fat. Many times girls who look skinny have a high bf percentage because they are called “false skinny girls”. It’s like they eat very bad but don’t gain weigth which results in high bf but skinny body. You should ask that to a professional couch ;)
What is bad about lower percentage of body fat? I’m not a model, i’m not a professional in any sport and I have to do tests to can enter in a gym and my body fat is 14.6%… I’m not anoretic or nothing look like that… And I’m not musscle girl too x))))
Actually if you look at her vogue italia editorial her bf isn’t far from 10 percent. Its likely under 15 because her abs are extremely visible as are her bum and arm muscles.
She is very skinny but I don’t understand why you don’t understand… She is skinny because she is very tall. If you have 5’2 and eat 1000-1500 kcal a day you will be fat, if you have 5’7 and eat 1000-1500 kcal a day you will be normal, if you have 5’9 and eat 1000-1500 kcal a day you will be thin. Now imagine you have 6’2…
Yes it’s easy be thin and with no starving… You have to think in two things… There are body types right? She looks thin naturally . Of course models have to do diets and exercise but there are normal diets really . And other importante thing Karlie is very tall so if you were tall it’s easy be slim because your body has more “area” to distribute food. But your heigh is a really important fact to determinate your body look.

Thin people look more easily toned because they don’t have much fat to cover their muscles. Also, it is very possible to be skinny without starving yourself. I was born like that, I am healthy. Neither one of us have any proof on who is naturally thin and who struggles, so don’t just assume u are right simply out of what u know from ur body, as I don’t assume I am right out of what I know from my body, We must know before claiming something with such certainty.
BMI can be helpful for the majority of people who don’t have controlled diets and who don’t get much exercise. It can serve as a good indicator of health, but it is by no means reliable. For example, you can have a low BMI but have a fatty heart and liver. Or you could have a low BMI but get all of the vitamins/nutrients you require and maintain your weight, which means the BMI underweight warning is irrelevant to you. What are your sources RE the VS model calorie intake per day?
“Underweight” and “Overweight” refer to the BMI scale, a flawed concept for those who have controlled diets and exercise. There are athletes defined as “overweight” because of it, and there are models who maintain their weight and get all the nutrition they require but are defined as “underweight”. Body fat percentage is more important than BMI. The essential BF% for a woman is 10-13%. Karlie visibly has more than that and isn’t “too skinny”. Nutrition and BF% are more important than the BMI.
“natural state” is relative. victoria’s secret models eat somewhere between 1,000 and 1,500 calories a day. plus she obviously works out, if you look at her body. hers would be anyone’s natural state if they ate and trained like that. and she’s skinnier than all the other vs models on top of that. so yeah. i’m gonna venture to say she’s too skinny, and it’s sad that girls are tricked into thinking these models just role out of bed looking like this, and this is normal and healthy.
Well if it is her natural state she is fine, not sick. No matter what dietologists say, normal and healthy is different for everyone.

Ive seen her and she’s not as skinny as the other models I’ve seen. Anja Rubik s noticeably skinnier than her, vlada. The lack of fat makes her look thinner as does her stretched out height and limbs.
Well actually id say she’s 135 lbs and 6’1 because i have the same body type as her. Trust me, I’m not unhealthy and i don’t starve myself. I eat very healthy and workout with weights, a little cardio, but i eat like a normal healthy person. Yes according to bmi we’re a little underweight but everybody has a different body type. She’s just as big as the other vs models, you can see when next to each other same sized thighs, arms but her body fat is lower.
she’s 6’1″ and 125 pounds. she’s no more “toned” than all the other models. they all exercise just as much. she’s just skinnier, so all you see is muscle. there’s no fat on her anywhere. she’s skin, bone, and muscle. and perhaps “normal” isn’t the right word. the point is she is underweight. and just because a lot of people are overweight doesn’t make underweight healthy. both are unhealthy.
She’s the same as the other models, maybe leaner. She has more muscle than most high fashion models. Obviously she’s not normal as normal is 5’4 and 160 lbs.

Being in her position and living the life she does I’m sure she’s built up confidence and barriers and a whole new personality because of her constantly demanding line of work. She is adored, envied, loved, wanted, looked up to, hated, jeopardized, and ignored. We all live life the way we see fit and she got dealt an outstandingly lucky hand of cards. I’m glad she recognizes it, even if in all the bliss and chaos she may not regard it all the time.
