Italian born supermodel Bianca Balti stars in Dolce & Gabbana jewelry campaign video titled “A Precious Passion“. Photographer Giampaolo Sgura directs Bianca Balti and Simone Nobili as the designers explain the concept behind the print ad campaign and film “is a statement of faith, a wave of passion, or a celebration of love“.

For their first ever jewellery collection, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have combined the most exquisite materials – tri-colour gold, rubies, sapphires and pearls — with the most significant symbols at their disposal. Supermodel Liya Kebede has been named the new face of L’Oreal Paris. The 33 year old mother of two is the newest global ambassador for L’Oreal Paris working alongside Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Gwen Stefani.

Liya Kebede Named New Face of LOreal Paris

Liya was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and is currently represented by IMG Models. The supermodel’s big break came in 2000 when designer Tom Ford booked her for the Gucci show, and she quickly became a huge star on the international fashion scene. In 2003 she was the first woman of color to be signed to a cosmetics contract with Estee Lauder. Since 2005 she has worked with WHO, the World Health Organization’s Ambassador for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health.

“Liya is a very strong, inspiring, and courageous woman, with an extremely refined and enchanting beauty. Her generous commitment to the cause of women’s wellbeing is also remarkable,” says Cyril Chapuy, Global Brand President of L’Oreal Paris.

Natalia and Stella McCartney are good friends and they also share a similar point of view – loving fashion that is cool, comfortable and empowers women. As Natalia explained to us backstage,”..I love Stella’s clothes…they’re feminine, sexy but not over the top. It’s to empower women rather than put them in a cage of design……”

There were plenty of positive vibes in the air backstage at Stella McCartney’s Spring 2010 show in Paris.
