Fendi Spring 2013 Backstage

Go backstage at Fendi Spring 2013 with designer Karl Lagerfeld, top model Cara Delevingne, makeup artist Peter Philips and hairstylist Sam McKnight.

Karl Lagerfeld always puts on a great show and his Fendi collections are always so modern, fresh and young. The inspiration for Fendi Spring 2013 was Memphis – the huge furniture movement of the 1980′s. To capture that spirt hair stylist Sam McKnight created sharp aerodynamic hair that perfectly complimented the geometric clothes.

Peter Philips makeup brief was to include the colors of the collection, so he used the fabrics from the collection and glued it under the eyes. As designer Karl Lagerfeld explained backstage after the show “It’s a total look. I have a vision – I have so many references in my mind – it’s like a huge Google storage in my mind, it’s just something I felt. It’s something very Italian, very Milano“.

DSquared2 designers Dean and Dan Caten were inspired by the 90′s supermodel Linda Evangelista and photographs by Peter Lindbergh shot in 1991. As Cara Delevingne told us backstage before opening the show working with Dean and Dan is a dream, ’”It’s just about being sexy – they always want alot of energy, and they just give it and your bring it – it’s real team work“.

The beauty look created by makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury and hair stylist Sam McKnight perfectly captured the look of supermodel 90′s glamour. As Charlotte explained backstage the DSquared2 Spring 2013 makeup look, “is very Peter Lindbergh 90′s – it’s an almond smoky eye with a strong arched brow, contoured face with Mac Spice Lip Liner and Fleshpot Beige lips“. Sam wanted the hair to look modern so he made it shiny and super straight. The result was stunning – the girls looked sexy, cool and superhot.

Go backstage at Paris fashion week and get the Look of Balmain by makeup artist Tom Pecheux and hair stylist Sam McKnight. Olivier Rousteing’s fall 2013 collection for Balmain was electrifying – the broad shouldered jackets and dresses were full of embellishments and bold color so the beauty look was natural.

As Sam McKnight admitted backstage “the look of Balmain is a lot tougher this season”. Slicked back, masculine hair gave the models a powerful rock and roll edge. Makeup artist Tom Pecheux gave the models matte skin and well groomed stronger eyebrows – a look that has become a real trend for fall 2013. Get the gorgeous beauty look that makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury and hairstylist Sam McKnight created for the DSquared2 Fall 2012 collection that was inspired by the 60′s and the icon of today, Lana Del Rey. Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury gave the girls a gorgeous supermodel brow, and used thick black liner to create a wing. She poured on the mascara and added two layers of lashes. Charlotte finished off the look using MAC Spice Lip liner and FleshPot lipstick to give the girls that sexy Lana del Rey pout. “It’s all about the feline eye, the pouty lip and the lash“.

DSquared2 fashion shows are always one of the best shows of Milan Fashion Week. Dean & Dan always stage a show that is entertaining and full of beautiful clothes that you actually want to own and wear. The concept behind their Fall 2012 fashion show is a 60′s ‘Back to School’ high school prom. As the boys told us backstage, “these are rich kids with a bad attitude“.
