Just days before the Chanel Haute Couture show is to be presented in Paris, designer Karl Lagerfeld sat down with Hilary Alexander at the Chanel studio on Rue Cambon to find out what is inspiring him these days. From what he is wearing to what he’s reading to his favorite music (it’s British indy artist Anna Calvi) he shares his feelings on fashion, “I don’t want an intellectual image, I’m a fashion person”. Check out the video by the London Daily Telegraph.

Italian designer Giorgio Armani presented his Fall 2010 Privé couture collection in Paris today, and backstage before the show he talked about his recent collaborations with Lady Gaga. Armani is known for his chic, understated style, but the spectacular outfits he has created for Lady Gaga are really out of this world. For his Fall couture collection Armani seems to be channeling her spirit. The models had old Hollywood, Veronica Lake, sexy glamorous hair, and the evening dresses were opulent and rich. Hilary Alexander of the London Daily Telegraph has the scoop.

British Designer John Galliano opened the Fall 2010 Haute Couture Collections in Paris today with his dazzling, technicolor floral-inspired collection for Dior. The show was exotic explosion of color like we’ve never seen before.

Galliano’s inspiration was gardens and flowers, and that theme was felt in every detail right down to the models towering ‘peony’ hairdos, each were encased in cellophane wrapping just like a bunch of flowers, thanks to the genius work of milliner Stephen Jones. Galliano said the show was inspired in part by photographer Irving Penn and the beautiful garden of Christian Dior’s childhood home.
