Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2013 Backstage

Emma Stone takes us backstage at Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2013 designed by Francisco Costa. It’s a sexually charged collection that celebrates the female form. As designer Francisco Costa explained after the show, “I love women’s bodies and I like to celebrate it all the time, it is a celebration and that is how I feel about the clothes”.

It’s that beautiful balance between the modernity and femininity that has so many women in Hollywood loving Costa’s collections. Diane Kruger is a huge fan, “It’s always very simple very contemporary with out it feeling too fashiony…I’m always impressed with his cuts – it always feels very great to wear”. Allure Backstage Jason Wu Spring 2013 backstage beauty video. Jason Wu Spring 2013 backstage beauty look by makeup artist Diane Kendal and hair stylist Odile Gilbert was sexy and elegant. Photographer Helmut Newton was the inspiration for Jason Wu Spring 2013 Collection, one of the hottest shows at New York Fashion Week.

Hair stylist Odile Gilbert used Kérastase Elixir Ultime Oléo-Complexe to give her sleek, braided updos shine and a sense of chic elegance and sophistication. As she explained backstage the look of Jason Wu Spring 2013 is “Expensive and elegant, but not vulgar, updos with a masculine side and feminine side.”

“She’s a very strong, sexy woman—very bold,” makeup artist Diane Kendal said of the fierce brows and vibrant red mouth she created. Kendal used a combination of six products to create the “very bright, feminine lip,”. She applied M.A.C. Lip Pencil in Cherry to the entire mouth, then darkened the outer edges with M.A.C. Lip Pencil in Vino.

Prabal Gurung Spring 2013 backstage beauty video at New York Fashion Week with makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury and hairstylist Paul Hanlon and top model Josephine Skriver.

The beauty look of Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2013 show – ethereal, light and a bit haunted. Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury used Mac Cream Color Base in Luna on the cheekbones and eyelids to give the models a beautiful glow. Paul Hanlon said that Prabal wanted the girl to look more innocent this time, almost angelic, so he kept the hair clean and very simple. ”It’s all about quality hair” this season.

Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2103 collection was inspired in part by the artist Anish Kappor. As Prabal explained to me backstage – it’s all about the dress, “what is sensual and sexy to me – are dresses that are not so body-con. Alexander Wang Fall 2013 backstage beauty video with makeup artist Diane Kendal for Nars and hair stylist Guido Palau. Featuring backstage interviews with Aymeline Valade, Kasia Struss and CND Nails Co-Founder Jan Arnold and appearances by top model Katya Riabinkina.

The Alexander Wang girl is a futurist who likes to make a strong statement, especially when it comes to her beauty look. For fall 2013 hair stylist Guido Palau did “ponytails with a difference ” by adding cognac extensions in the models hair to achieve “this idea of cloning”. Guido slicked back the hair using Redken Hardware Super Strong Gel No 16 and used Diamond Oil (out in May 2013) to give it shine.

Diane Kendal kept the focus on the eyes using Nars Single Eye Shadow in Lhasa from crease to lid and used a black eyeliner to give the eyes more definition. To finish the look all the models had sandstone inspired nail art by CND. As Jan Arnold explained to us backstage “it’s an androgynous looking nail – we’re calling it enigma”.

Michael Kors Fall Winter 2013 Collection is sexy, athletic and chic. As Michael explained backstage just moments before his show at New York Fashion week, “If you live an urban life it’s like being an athlete – life is fast and it’s all about movement. I really wanted to combine the quintessential uptown polish of NY, Paris and London and merge that with this athleticism, because why not have it all“.

The beauty look of Michael Kors Fall 2013 was inspired by the modern, graphic mood of the collection. Dick Page used a golden champagne eye shadow from the limited-edition Shiseido Eye Color Bar palette (which comes out this Fall) along the models’ cheekbones for a fresh glow, and to showcase the dramatic eye. The lip was a mix of the same pink cream shadow and Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Fantasia. The high ponytail that Orlando Pita gave the models was 50′s meets 90′s – he wrapped latex around the base to give the sleek, bouncy ponytails an edge of sexiness.
