Fendi’s Spring 2012 collection was inspired in part by Italian neurologist Rita Levi-Montalcini who won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1986. She’s a mathematician, a woman who loves luxury – she’s perfect, but real.
The beauty look makeup artist Peter Philips created was luxurious – he used real gold and silver leaf on the models eyes to make them shine through the oversized sunglasses giving it an overall effect of extreme luxury. As Karl Lagerfeld explained to us backstage after the show ..” You have the instant feeling of refined work and quality that only Fendi can do….only this can be done in Italy…”

Designer Karl Lagerfeld presented his Chanel Haute Couture Collection for Fall 2011 last night at 10pm because the designer wanted the Grand Palais to be flooded with moonlight. The collection had a sombre, seductive mood about it, inspired by the twenties and Coco Chanel – the focus was the tweed skirt suit. The set added to the mystery – the backdrop was a neon-limned mock-up of the Place Vendôme, and the floor was covered with a granite-like black surface which twinkled to resemble rain soaked pavements. Chanel Cruise 2011 – 2012 show in Cap D’Antibes was where all the action was last night in the beautiful French Riviera. Karl Lagerfeld has turned the Chanel Resort collection into one of the hottest tickets of the fashion season.
All of Karl’s favorite top models were booked for the show including Abbey Lee Kershaw, Natasha Poly and Karolina Kurkova. The guest list just as hot – Blake Lively, Rachel Bilson, Vanessa Paradis, Laura Bailey, Alexa Chung and Poppy Delevingne all attended the show. Watch the full length video here now:
Karl Lagerfeld has released the trailer for his newest project. It’s a 30 Minute film called “The Tale of a Fairy” and stars his muse Amanda Harlech, models Kristen McMenamy, Freja Beha, Bianca Balti, Baptiste Giabiconi, Brad Koening, Jake Davies, Mark Vanderloo, Oriol Elcacho, Karl’s super-hot bodyguard Sebastien Jondeau, model Seth Kuhlmann and French actress Anna Mouglalis. The film will be presented at the Chanel Cruise 2011 collection in Cap d’Antibes on Monday night.
“Some people may be shocked“, Lagerfeld told WWD. There are scenes showing top model Freja Beha Erichsen topless and kissing Chanel ambassador Anna Mouglalis. “It is a movie about an ill-advised use of money which begins with violence and ends with feeling,” Lagerfeld explained.
