Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 backstage beauty with makeup artist Francois Nars and hair stylist Guido Palau and top models Cara Delevingne, Magdelena Frackiowiak, Jessica Stam, photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

The beauty look of Marc Jacobs for Fall 2013 “It’s a very underground, cool-girl look, but still very sophisticated“, makeup artist Francois Nars explained backstage at the show. “Marc always wants the girl to look sexy no matter what. He likes when the makeup looks a little destroyed“.

The hair look by stylist Guido Palau was inspired in part by a cut he had done on top model Edie Campbell for Vogue Magazine. Guido gave all the models haircuts like 80′s rock icon Joan Jett, “Marc was also referencing a girl in the 90′s called Kim Pierce who had a similar haircut – and then we got into Joan Jett and people like that. Marc liked the whole idea of deconstructing the glam he produced in his clothes”.

Go backstage at Jason Wu Fall 2013 with top models Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn, Daphne Groeneveld and Jessica Stam and find out why Jason Wu is one of the most buzzed about designers at New York Fashion Week. On Friday afternoon, even with threats of a severe snowstorm about to hit the city – it was still a full house at his show on the Upper East side.

As Cara Delevingne told me backstage – “this is really the show that opens NY Fashion Week…Jason is such a sweet guy, I just love doing his show – it’s always so elegant but cool”. All of the models feel the same way about Jason – they adore him because he knows how to make each one of them feel beautiful.

Jason Wu is only 30 years old. In just 6 years since launching his business he has become one of the most important designers working in American fashion. Originally born in Taipei, he was raised in Vancouver, Canada and he now owns a very successful design studio in New York. He is First Lady Michelle Obama’s designer of choice and created both of her  inaugural gowns, which helped put him on the international map.

For Fall 2013 Jason Wu celebrated the beauty of a woman – focusing on femininity and strength. As he explained to me “I really wanted to propose the idea of femininity as seen through my eyes – it wasn’t about a complex concept or over reaching idea – it was about the idea of a woman – feminine clothes that women want to wear“.

The collection was a knockout, full of seductive wearable pieces that have become his signature. Watch the Jason Wu Fall 2013 Fashion Video here now and discover more online at JasonWuStudio.com

Sumptuous and pretty.  Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2012 collection perfectly captures the soft, romantic look of the season.  Designer Marc Jacobs is so inspiring and he knows how to create the “wow” factor by staging shows that are full of fantasy and great fashion.

The models a the Louis Vuitton show looked like fairy tale princesses as they sat on the white carrousel in their embellished sorbet colored dresses.  The show was beautiful and just out of this world.  It’s Mark Jacobs love of beauty and fashion that really comes through at every Vuitton collection he creates.

As Marc explained to me backstage after the show, “I love fashion so much, we don’t do this because we have to – we do this out of love – it’s not for a paycheck – it’s done from a place of passion.  Nobody needs fashion – it’s a luxury.  Nobody needs fashion, they want fashion – it sort of pulls at your heart when it works“.

Go backstage at Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2011 with designer Marc Jacobs and top models Karolina Kurkova, Jessica Stam, Natalia Vodianova, Carolyn Murphy. As Marc explained to us the show’s fetish theme was based on “obsession”. Some of his favorite girls walked in the show including supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. It’s one of most directional shows of the fall season – it’s sexy, sassy and super hot. This article was written by Karen Morrison, Executive Producer & Director. According to New York designer Michael Kors it’s the balance between fantasy and reality that makes fashion work.  His Fall 2009 collection strikes that balance perfectly.  It’s powerful, confident and chic and very urban which means it’s full of black clothes every woman can wear.  But it’s the acid bright neon colors that makes this collection a real winner.  Featuring top models Jessica Stam and Chanel Iman. Makeup by Dick Page and Hair by Orlando Pita.
