Go backstage at Jason Wu Fall 2016 with top model Ruth Bell at New York Fashion Week and see how to get one of the hot makeup trends of the season – clumpy lashes.

Ruth Bell is with The Society and is one of the hot “models of the moment”.  She’s 19, English, and has an identical twin sister named May Bell who is also a model. Ruth has starred in the Saint Laurent Campaign and walked in Gucci, but Jason Wu’s Fall 2016 show was Ruth’s first New York Fashion show ever.

We caught up with Ruth May backstage at Jason Wu to find out what she loves about his approach to style and her take on the those 60’s-inspired clumpy lashes by Maybelline New York Global make up artist YADIM.

“It’s one of those organic fashion relationships” Designer Jason Wu and Karlie Kloss talk to us about their special bond at Jason Wu Fall 2015 backstage at New York Fashion Week.

Karlie is the embodiment of the Jason Wu woman…we grew up together and it’s really nice to see how we have both evolved“.

“Strength and seduction” was the theme of Jason Wu’s Fall 2015 show and as he explained backstage after the show “there is something polished, grown up and sexy about this collection.”

The inspiration for the beauty look was photographer Helmut Newton and Charlotte Rampling. Makeup artist Diane Kendal used the new Jason Wu x Lancome color palette, keeping the makeup barely there – “It’s really about making the girls looking sexy and beautiful”.  The look hair stylist Odile Gilbert created was also a first “the hair down with a tiny wave in the back”.  For more visit JasonWuStudio.Com

Supermodel Karlie Kloss gives us an exclusive look at Jason Wu Spring 2014 backstage at New York Fashion Week.   “I want women to feel beautiful, adored and like a million dollars“, Jason Wu said moments after the show.  That’s exactly how Karlie Kloss said she felt in the stunning finale dress which was “wedding worthy” and one of the most beautiful gowns she’s ever worn.

The Spring 2014 collection is classic Jason Wu – sophisticated, young and chic. Hair stylist Odile Gilbert‘s slick ponytail gave the models a modern, polished edge. Makeup artist Diane Kendal’s smoky gold, “show stopping” glittery eye perfectly complimented the soft, sand colored clothes. As Jason explained “it felt like all the jewelry she needed – less is more“.  This is the second season Jason Wu has collaborated with Lancome USA to produce a limited edition makeup collection based on the look of his show which is available at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Jason Wu summed up his gorgeous Spring collection “It’s good for the moment, it feels modern and it feels expensive“. Featuring backstage interviews with Jason Wu, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Diane Kendal and Odile Gilbert. Discover more at JasonWuStudio.Com.

Go backstage at Jason Wu Fall 2013 with top models Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn, Daphne Groeneveld and Jessica Stam and find out why Jason Wu is one of the most buzzed-about designers at New York Fashion Week. On Friday afternoon, even with threats of a severe snowstorm about to hit the city – it was still a full house at his show on the Upper East side.

As Cara Delevingne told me backstage – “this is really the show that opens NY Fashion Week…Jason is such a sweet guy, I just love doing his show – it’s always so elegant but cool”. All of the models feel the same way about Jason – they adore him because he knows how to make each one of them feel beautiful.

Jason Wu is only 30 years old. In just 6 years since launching his business,  he has become one of the most important designers working in American fashion. Originally born in Taipei, he was raised in Vancouver, Canada and he now owns a very successful design studio in New York. He is First Lady Michelle Obama’s designer of choice and made her inaugural gown, which helped put him on the international map.

For Fall 2013 Jason Wu celebrated the beauty of a woman – focusing on femininity and strength. As he explained to me “I really wanted to propose the idea of femininity as seen through my eyes – it wasn’t about a complex concept or overreaching idea – it was about the idea of a woman – feminine clothes that women want to wear“.

The collection was a knockout, full of seductive wearable pieces that have become his signature. Watch the Jason Wu Fall 2013 Fashion Video here now and discover more online at JasonWuStudio.com

Allure Backstage Jason Wu Spring 2013 backstage beauty video. Jason Wu Spring 2013 backstage beauty look by makeup artist Diane Kendal and hair stylist Odile Gilbert  was sexy and elegant. Photographer Helmut Newton was the inspiration for Jason Wu Spring 2013 Collection, one of the hottest shows at New York Fashion Week.

Hair stylist Odile Gilbert used Kérastase Elixir Ultime Oléo-Complexe to give her sleek, braided updos shine and a sense of chic elegance and sophistication.  As she explained backstage the look of Jason Wu Spring 2013 is “Expensive and elegant, but not vulgar, updos with a masculine side and feminine side.”

She’s a very strong, sexy woman—very bold,” makeup artist Diane Kendal said of the fierce brows and vibrant red mouth she created.  Kendal used a combination of six products to create the “very bright, feminine lip,”. She applied M.A.C. Lip Pencil in Cherry to the entire mouth, then darkened the outer edges with M.A.C. Lip Pencil in Vino.
