DSquared2 designers Dean and Dan Caten were inspired by the 90′s supermodel Linda Evangelista and photographs by Peter Lindbergh shot in 1991. As Cara Delevingne told us backstage before opening the show working with Dean and Dan is a dream, ’”It’s just about being sexy – they always want alot of energy, and they just give it and your bring it – it’s real team work“.

The beauty look created by makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury and hair stylist Sam McKnight perfectly captured the look of supermodel 90′s glamour. As Charlotte explained backstage the DSquared2 Spring 2013 makeup look, “is very Peter Lindbergh 90′s – it’s an almond smoky eye with a strong arched brow, contoured face with Mac Spice Lip Liner and Fleshpot Beige lips“. Sam wanted the hair to look modern so he made it shiny and super straight. The result was stunning – the girls looked sexy, cool and superhot.

“Globalization” was the theme of Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel Fall 2013 show, one of the most exciting fashion shows of Paris Fashion Week.

As fashion editors and celebrity guests including Jessica Chastain, Mila Jovovitch and Vanessa Paradis entered the Grand Palais they were all awe-struck by of the magnificent 25-meter-high globe in the center of the room. The softly spinning planet was dotted with Chanel’s iconic double C logo flags, marking the 300 locations where Chanel now has free standing boutiques in the world – a celebration of Chanel’s 100 years in fashion and a testament to the power of this French luxury brand.

The beauty look of Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2013 show – ethereal, light and a bit haunted. Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury used Mac Cream Color Base in Luna on the cheekbones and eyelids to give the models a beautiful glow. Paul Hanlon said that Prabal wanted the girl to look more innocent this time, almost angelic, so he kept the hair clean and very simple. ”It’s all about quality hair” this season.

Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2103 collection was inspired in part by the artist Anish Kappor. As Prabal explained to me backstage – it’s all about the dress, “what is sensual and sexy to me – are dresses that are not so body-con. The beauty look is all about a cool French girl” Lucia Pieroni, Cle du Peau Beaute Makeup Creative Director explained backstage. That meant a “no makeup – makeup look” which starts with beautiful, radiant skin. Lucia used Cle du Peau Correcteur Visage concealer, then dusted the cheekbones with Cle du Peau Luminizing Face Enchancer Number 13. To finish the look she dabbed on a Enriched Lip Luminizer lip color in a soft pink shade. The result is a effortlessly cool look that’s “a bit Ali McGraw”.

Nicola Formichetti is Diesel’s new Creative Director. The designer will serve as the brand’s first artistic director and will oversee product design, marketing, communications and interior design. “It’s a reboot” says Formichetti in this behind the scenes video produced by Diesel.

“I finally met somebody as crazy as I am,” said Renzo Rosso, founder of Diesel. “Nicola shares my vision and I find it incredibly inspiring to work with him: two creative planets are colliding to generate fresh, mad, insane ideas. With his help, I want to break more rules and bring the real Diesel to a new generation.”

Though Formichetti just left his post as designer for Thierry Mugler two days ago, this new partnership has actually been in the works for about a year and a half. According to WWD, Rosso walked into a Formichetti pop-up store in September 2011 that was designed to look like a ‘bombed-out disco,’ and was blown away.

Michael Kors Fall Winter 2013 Collection is sexy, athletic and chic. As Michael explained backstage just moments before his show at New York Fashion week, “If you live an urban life it’s like being an athlete – life is fast and it’s all about movement. I really wanted to combine the quintessential uptown polish of NY, Paris and London and merge that with this athleticism, because why not have it all“.

The beauty look of Michael Kors Fall 2013 was inspired by the modern, graphic mood of the collection. Dick Page used a golden champagne eye shadow from the limited-edition Shiseido Eye Color Bar palette (which comes out this Fall) along the models’ cheekbones for a fresh glow, and to showcase the dramatic eye. The lip was a mix of the same pink cream shadow and Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Fantasia. The high ponytail that Orlando Pita gave the models was 50′s meets 90′s – he wrapped latex around the base to give the sleek, bouncy ponytails an edge of sexiness.

The beauty look of Marc Jacobs for Fall 2013 “It’s a very underground, cool-girl look, but still very sophisticated“, makeup artist Francois Nars explained backstage at the show. “Marc always wants the girl to look sexy no matter what. He likes when the makeup looks a little destroyed“.

The hair look by stylist Guido Palau was inspired in part by a cut he had done on top model Edie Campbell for Vogue Magazine. Guido gave all the models haircuts like 80′s rock icon Joan Jett, “Marc was also referencing a girl in the 90′s called Kim Pierce who had a similar haircut – and then we got into Joan Jett and people like that. Marc liked the whole idea of deconstructing the glam he produced in his clothes”.
