For Fall Winter 2014/15  Dolce & Gabbana once again explored Italy’s rich cultural heritage.  The Fall 2014 Menswear  collection was inspired by Sicily’s Medieval roots: the Norman Conquerors and the Kings of Sicily from 1091.

The romantic show opened with the 8 Norman Kings of Sicily.  Models, crowned in jewel encrusted head pieces wore the effigies of the Norman Kings of ages past:  Roger I, Roger II, William I, William II, Tancred, Henry VI, Frederick II and Manfred.

Watch Dolce & Gabbana Spring Summer 2013 Menswear fashion video live from Milan Fashion Week.  The Sicilian inspired fashion show featured a village band performing live and the casting is a first for designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.  Instead of top male models, they cast real Sicilian young men to walk in the runway show, giving the collection an authentic Sicilian vibe.

In Milan designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gababana presented a Fall 2012 Menswear collection that was inspired by their Sicilian roots and the Italian family.  The broken down opera backdrop with the bordello lighting set the tone for this collection that focused on sartorial historicism, baroque embroidery and modern tailoring.  The starting point of the collection was the cape ” Tistera” they are called in Sicily. Backstage Stefano Gabbana explained “We didn’t look at a book or a movie for inspiration,” said Gabbana. “It was all about family.”
