Michael Kors Collection Introduces New Format with Resort 2017

No social media. The Daily Front Row is reporting that Designer Michael Kors has banned all social media at his upcoming Resort 2017 presentation on June 7th in New York.  The brand announced today a new format and timelines and ‘No Social Media Permitted’ policy for the upcoming show.  They’ll release just five images on the day of  appointments for online and print with the rest of the collection “open to the public” on October 2016.

A complete lookbook, for editorial requests only, will be sent to editors the following day. “We feel our clients and fans will love getting a sneak peek of the collection as opposed to inundating them with too much imagery too soon,” Kors explained today. “Ultimately, this is all about creating more excitement when the product is available.”

It was no surprise that we found one of the hottest models Imaan Hammam at the presentation, ‘I’m in love with all the shoes – they are amazing”.

Gigi Hadid talks to us backstage at New York Fashion Week and tells us why she adores fashion designer Anna Sui and what her role as spokesmodel for Maybelline New York means to her.

“I grew up watching Maybelline commercials and singing the jingle in my bathroom and doing my makeup and to now be able to be in the commercials and be on the screen with the girls singing along too is amazing. I genuinely love the brand and the products and that was something really important to me. It’s very important to me when I make all my deals I genuinely want to be able to represent things that I love because I won’t be able to do it as well if I don’t love the brand, so I’m very happy to be a Maybelline girl.

My message to young girls about beauty is – this sounds so cliche but all the supermodels that I’ve met along the way – it doesn’t matter how beautiful they were, even if I looked up to them for my entire life it always ruined it if they were not nice or not genuine. My favorite girl is Candice Swanepoel who I grew up loving my entire life. Candice is the most genuine, kind person and that makes me love her even more.”

While many were expecting supermodel Gigi Hadid to make her first American Vogue cover appearance on the May 2016 issue following the leak of that sultry editorial with Zayn a couple of weeks ago, the magazine surprised online readers when it revealed on Thursday that Taylor Swift is the month’s cover star.

Swift, who’s fronted the book twice before — once in February 2012 and again in March 2015 alongside her bestie Karlie Kloss — pays homage to Hedi Slimane in her Mert and Marcus-shot spread, wearing Saint Laurent on the cover, complete with the bleach-blonde mop that the designer tends to favor for the models in his shows.

Her looks inside the issue are just as fashion-forward — Vetements, Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler — and a far cry from the typically cutesy things we’re used to seeing her wear. You can read the full story over at Vogue.com. (Source: Fashionista)

Happy Birthday Alessandra Ambrosio! Alessandra is one of the hottest models on the planet is is one of the world’s sexiest women.  This Brazilian beauty is signed to DNA Models in New York and is one Victoria’s Secret supermodels.

Alessandra Corine Maria Ambrósio was born April 11, 1981 in Erechim, Brazil. Ambrosio is known for her work with Victoria’s Secret and was chosen as the first spokesmodel for the company’s “PINK” line. Ambrosio is one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels and has also modeled for brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Armani Exchange, Christian Dior, and Ralph Lauren.

Ambrosio s an ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In 2012 she was ranked number six on Forbes list of the highest-paid models, estimated to have earned $6.6 million in one year.

As an Angel, Alessandra was chosen as one of People magazine’s annual 100 Most Beautiful People in the World in May 2007. Ambrosio began dating businessman Jamie Mazur in 2005. After she became pregnant they got engaged on 12 May 2008. The couple have two children: daughter Anja Louise Ambrosio Mazur (born August 24, 2008) and son Noah Phoenix Ambrosio Mazur (born May 7, 2012).

In Spring 2014 Alessandra launched  life style brand named Ále by Alessandra in collaboration with US retailer Cherokee. The line features casual wear to formal attire and is aimed at females between 18 and 35 years old. The apparel line was first shown by Southern California-based retailer Planet Blue.
