Supermodels Doutzen Kroes, Taylor Hill and Isabeli Fontana tell us why they are in love with Mugler and Creative Director David Koma’s futuristic vision and modern sense of style.”He’s an incredible designer and super modern and feminine at the same time and the fact that he’s so sweet and nice is just a bonus” Doutzen explained backstage.

David Koma is 29 years old, was born in Georgia and is now based in London. He showcased his first collection at the age of 15 after studying Fine Art in Saint Petersburg. Kona graduated in 2009 with distinction in MA Fashion from Central Saint Martins, he launched his own signature label in 2009 and has been Creative Director of Mugler since 2013. His sexy, ultra body-contouring look appeals to women who want to look cool and confident, but with an edge. “It’s not on purpose, it’s just kind of my hand writing – what ever I do it has a little bit of that futuristic touch“, David Koma told me after his Mugler Spring 2016 show at Paris Fashion Week.

Some of the world’s hottest models from Karlie Kloss to Georgia May Jagger have walked in David Koma’s Mugler shows, and they are all his fans, “it’s one of the main reasons I’m a fashion designer and why I want to do my job is them. Every time I see them walking in my show and being around wearing my clothes, really it inspires me and makes me want to more“.

Valentino is one of the great legends of fashion who has been making women look beautiful for over 45 years. We went backstage at Valentino’s Fall 2007 show in Paris to find out why he says “beauty is in his blood”.

Valentino Garavani’s Fall 2007 collection was inspired by a forties movie star, it’s “old Hollywood” glamour, a look that has really defined this designer’s extraordinary career –

” I put this collection together thinking about the glamorous girl, the glamorous people and they are around and they want to be beautiful. This is my final arrival – I want to make women look beautiful. I always loved glamour because I love a woman being beautiful, this is in my blood. You know what do I have to do – it’s beauty, like I love a beautiful lady, I love a beautiful dog, I love a beautiful piece of furniture

I love beauty, it’s not my fault” – Valentino

Featuring Daria Werbowy, Julia Stegner and some of the world’s top models including Anja Rubik, Gemma Ward and Natasha Poly. Interviews with makeup artist by Pat McGrath, Hair by Orlando Pita.

Get the Supermodel look: go backstage at Esteban Cortazar Fall 2016 with hair stylist and Moroccanoil Creative Director Peter Gray at Paris Fashion Week.

“We went back to gel”, Peter explained, “It was something quintessentially supermodel that we have not seen for ages. I feel that Esteban’s collections really harken back to that era of the supermodel – they’ve got that fabulousness about them”.

“I’m using the Moroccanoil Gel on one side of the head with a side parting, we did this little rope twist, which was intended to separate the two sides of the woman. And then the side is a little softer and more textured, bushed a little bit looser so it flowed a little bit as the girls walked”.

Esteban Cortezar said that he wanted the girls to look fresh and beautiful, “With the hair we just wanted to take it away from the face, accentuate the neck, accentuate the pieces the way they were constructed. With the collection we started with this idea a jock strap – so all those elastics came from that, in the way they were in some of the clothes – these male gymnastics references came into play.”

Michael Kors Collection Introduces New Format with Resort 2017

No social media. The Daily Front Row is reporting that Designer Michael Kors has banned all social media at his upcoming Resort 2017 presentation on June 7th in New York.  The brand announced today a new format and timelines and ‘No Social Media Permitted’ policy for the upcoming show.  They’ll release just five images on the day of  appointments for online and print with the rest of the collection “open to the public” on October 2016.

A complete lookbook, for editorial requests only, will be sent to editors the following day. “We feel our clients and fans will love getting a sneak peek of the collection as opposed to inundating them with too much imagery too soon,” Kors explained today. “Ultimately, this is all about creating more excitement when the product is available.”
